Why this vehicle has no raditor or is it in between the body and front grill. pls explain.Pls explain the speed and gear shifiting ration. When ever i put 1 st gear car RPM goes beyond 2000 how should it control between 1000 and 1500 rpm and pls explain the speed and gear shifting ratio.

| I do not understand what you mean about changing gear ! If its this then Use the 2300 rpm between changes But a tip is you only need first gear to move the vehicle so you can change on a flat surface at 1000rpm and all the others by normal use 2000 to 2300 unless you feel a bit wild then put your foot to the floor you will not damage the engine as it has a governor stu | |

| It is something which will not let you over rev the engine especially diesel engines have this fitted or they would rev up till they blew up you can feel the governor its like hand held in front of you after a certain amount of revs The diesel is controlled from the pump where the petrol is worked (or used to be) by measuring the amount of air coming into the engine and at a certain amount of pressure the fuel would be cut off by a Butterfly valve | |

| I have taken it to 4500 and above but didn't experience anything of that sort. I really doubt if they have a 'governor' in our Logan Diesel. It is probably there on our govt buses. On our bike models (Hero Puch) they limited the running-in speed by blocking the silencer partially. | |

| Thomas, the 'tak' sound when you engage the a/c is normal. Yes, you will not hear it when you disengage it. Only a reduction in engine noise and rpm is all you will notice. | |

I've run 35000 km+. I experienced that kind of effect around 3500 rpm, which is vry unusual. Also in those few days, it felt as though the turbo had a mind of its own and would kick-in anywhere between 1500-2500 rpm. Weird. Its normal now though

| My AC is not turning on sometimes. Sometimes it's working and sometimes not. If I switch off the engine and AC at road signals, then again when I start the engine and then the AC, AC does not turn on. Sometimes it shuts down automatically (which is normal) but not turning on back again. And this is happening now quite frequently. The service center guy scared the hell out of me saying that this may be due to faulty ECU and replacing it would cost me around Rs 40,000.
Any advice from anyone will of great help.

Thanks Stu for the link. There everyone suspects of low refrigerant. This can be a possible reason for my case too, as I have never serviced my AC in 6 yrs and also since the last 2 yrs I feel the AC cooling is not as effective as it was before. People in the back seat of the car have been complaining of poor cooling of my car. So it seems I have to refill AC gas to check if this problem goes away. Also does ECU control the AC unit too. I took the car to service center thrice for this problem and they are unable to figure out the root cause. They once changed the AC pressure switch and when this did not solve the problem they suggest the only resort is to change the ECU.

| Hi Nayandeep, I think the service center guys will ask you to get the AC system overhaul done. They will need to open the dash and clean all related parts and put it back. I had got it done for my car 2 months back and it was fine again. By the way, have you ever had AC refrigerant loss in last 6 yrs? | |

By the way, have you ever had AC refrigerant loss in last 6 yrs? 2 yrs back my car AC gas needed to be removed for some car bonnet repair. After the repair they again refilled the refrigerant. You said your's got fine. Did u have the same problem as mine? The service center guys here said if the AC is serviced, there is a change of the Evaporator getting leaked. And as per them since the AC is getting cutoff unexpectedly this is a sure shot problem of the ECU which cost around Rs 40000. Still they want to keep the car for 3 days for proper diagnosis. I just handed over them my car.

| I had this swooosh kind of sound coming in quite frequently when the AC was switched on. Initially it was a very mild noise but later it grew a bit louder. Eventually I realised that the cooling was not what it used to be. On the whole, this happened over a period of 6 months. Eventually, it came to a point where there was only warm air from the AC and the compressor would not kick in (could make out from the sound).
In the following service, when I asked my service advisor to chech it, he said he would do the AC overhaul and it would cost somewhere around 6k as the dash had to be removed. At that time I just asked him to top up the refrigerant and send it back as I needed the car. It was fine for 2 months, but then last December the thing returned again.
This time however, the AC became ineffective within 2 weeks. As I was leaving for Japan, and the car wouldnt be used much I decided to get it done later. In May this year, I was traveling to India and asked my dad to get the AC work done. Since the overhaul was done, it is now fine again.
I share this information with you because the cservice center will try to rectify it through the elimination method. And this will be one of their solutions to confirm everything is fine.

Surya Hi Surya, thanks a lot for the info. so it seems it's around a month that AC is working fine. We might need some more time to confirm if this solved the issue. Here they are saying on doing the AC overhaul, the Evaporator might get leaked and that costs around 6k. This happens because they use to clean the evaporator with water and sometimes that causes the leakage.

Well nothing of that sort happened when my car was serviced. Why don't you get an opinion from another service center?
