PostSubject: Logan DLS's Review - 37382 KMS   Tue Jan 04, 2011 8:27 pm

I've facing some problem now-a-days:
Logan APR 2007 DLS 37382 KMS

1. mix up of coolant with mobil due to faulty unit, Cylinder head gasket.
Already went to service station for repairing, don't know how it happens at a sudden..

2. at a speed 70+ steering is not steady
Service station says it's a suspension problem

3. break is fine , but with some noise when pressed
Service station says DISC break is normal

4. somehow I got mileage 18-19 without A/C , 15 with A/C (mostly city drive) before 3 months.
now-a-days it's 16 kmpl only Sad

5. Only front right side tyre worn out quickly (others including stepny are fine, done rotation when 25000km)

6. Horn switch on steering (Airbag is there) little heavy
Service station says it is normal/as the Airbag Unit is heavy.

7. clutch is very hard.

8. 3-4 time turning ignition required to start
Service station says it is a problem of starting/TCD sensor, wont be a problem to car functionality.

Some expert comments will be helpful.

1) Head gaskets do fail at times.

2) More likely a wheel balancing issue.

3) Have the brakes cleaned and the drum and disc too.

4) Diesel fuel filter probably? When was the last service?

5) Check Alignment. Not sure what you mean you say quickly. Do you normally rotate tyres?

6) I don't drive the model which has Airbags but still the explanation sounds stupid.

7) Get it checked.

8 ) Could be battery too.

I have a OCT2007 DLS. Its done 61,000 KM. I really did not have much of a problem this car. Just love it.. drives so well!!

About Point 2. I had the same issue, just did alignment and wheal balancing... problem was solved.

Point 3. I was also getting noise (front right side) while applying brakes at about 58000 km, break pads were worn out, got both changed and it works fine now.

Point 4. I get 14.5 kmph in heavy mumbai traffic ... just 2 km sometimes takes 45 min. I am not exaggerating. I agree with RajeshNamb... may be need to change the filter

Point 6. Yes about the Air bags... need to press at the sides of the horn area... not the best thing to do, but I have got used to it.

Point 7. Agree clutch is quite hard, even after changing... I heard its hydraulic clutch hence hard.

Point 8. I have the same starting problem. Need to turn the key 2-3 times for starting the car. NBS service center has not yet resolved this issue of my. Let me know if you found out what was wrong ... Question They checked the battery and it's good.

I had a brake noise problem.. but only when applying them in reverse.
Solution was replacement of Calliper Pins and Foundation (rubber part in the middle of the front suspension that dampens forward and back motion). Break pads were also replaced under warranty, although that apparantly did not cause the noise.

Cleaning, greasing, refitting several times did not help the cause initially.
