This happened a couple of months back.
i got my side view mirror smashed during a long trip.
the service person told, the shell is damaged and mirror and shell have to b replaced. he told me the cost of the shell and mirror comes around 700 or so and as it comes only in black colour, it has to be painted to make it body colour(the other mirror is body coloured). and in the end gave me a bill of around 1500. Needless to say i was shocked. Is ithis how it is in other service centres?. I will upload the bill if i manage to find it.

I think its reasonable. Not sure how many manufacturers/dealers can quote such a price.

Last year in July my ORVM on D. Side was hit by a speeding indica. The Mirror flew off the casing and the casing itself broke 2 of its 4 hinges.

Initially I replaced only the mirror glass (Rs. 160/- I think) and fixed it up myself.

This year in April, I got the whole assembly changed (it is not available without the mirror glass) so I had to take the whole thing. They charged me about Rs. 1100-1200/-, if I can recollect. My Logan is a DLX and mirrors are material colour (black) and hence did not require any painting.

k then guess its the same everywhere...some time back, on one occasion, the mirror alone fell on the road leaving the shell intact...i had the mirror replaced for 300...
