| Hello All, cna somebody tell me what is the max rpm the care pulls to. my car starts becoming noisy and doesn't pull smoothly once close to 3500 rpm. it's been an year and 12000 kms but i don;t feel that much smoothness in the power delivered, it's more like pushing the car. also if i pull it to 4000 or above then it remains noisy for some days before the noise subsides. can anyone pls share their experiences on this | |

| I've done more than 4000, at more than 140 kms/hr. I didn't have noise issues. I was on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway... The cemented roads are anyways noisy to drive on. | |

| I dont quite understand your question about the noise ! What do you mean about it staying loud for a few days afterwards the noise you hear inside the car is road noise and also noise from the drive train this is due to cost cutting on the soundproofing you will here the difference at about 120 kmh and it seems to go away after 140 kmh and dont forget you still have another (at least) 20000km to drive before your car is at its peak so off you go and find some nice journey to go on ....and turn UP the radio Stu | |

| Hey....what i mean is if i try to push the vehicle beyond 3500 rpm in 3rd gear....the noise increases ....post that i shift to 4th gear and doesn;t look like the 4th gear has much power at his stage. the car continues to make a noise as if the engine is delivering power but it it is not able to translate that into speed. if i drive like this for a day or two, then for 2-3 days the car feels a little more noisy (but more power as well) as compared to lets say i drive sedately at 2000 rpm or less and i can almost not hear the engine. thanks for the replies guys!! also, one question specific to Stu as i guess the autobahn et all would have lots of twists and turns. don;t you feel the car needs to be a pushed a little bit more over hilly areas....like changing gears and pushing the gas pedal to maintain 90 or higher. | |

| I can maintain 140 on our autobahns without changing also you say you change at 3500 that is WAY to high (no wonder its loud) 2000 to 2300 are enough for a good power ratio Stu | |

| it does make noise between 110 - 140 kmph evn in fifth gear. as rightly said it is all part of cost cutting or rather increasing company's profit margins. anyways it should not bother much. | |

| Wack it through the gears mate ! Is a 1400 cc Logan ? they are a bit underpowered but they like to be taken up through the Revs dont be afraid of over revving it Because it has a Governor which will not allow that as for these filters they dont bring a lot AND in your part of the world I would keep to the bog standard filter because of the Dust the bigger the filter the more dust collected My Logan goes brilliant and it is also a 1400 I fly down the Autobahns in and across Europe With no problems whatsoever and I have only original parts ie Plugs and Filter
