| I use Firestone in the Summer and I have some weird Named tire for the Winter (main thing is we can drive in the snow) But the Firestones are a good tire and brilliant on cornering and in wet weather | |

| Hi Puneet,
Increase in Fuel efficiency depends on a lot of factors. Tires is just one of them. So, I would personally not fall for the Mileage increase claim. If you are getting 26-27, how much more are you wanting out of your car? That you already have 26kmpl with you, you should probably look at improving ride comfort, road noise and better grip.
My opinion. | |

| I replaced my tyres at around 50,000 + kms I guess. I replaced in Jan 2013
I went from MRF ZLO, they are very very soft, they offer more grip than JK vectra, but body roll is higher as the tyres are soft.
JK tyres are hard and will withstand rough roads bit easily. But Iam not sure if ZLO can handle rough roads.
I have done some 13,000 kms so far in MRF ZLO, I feel since the tyre is bit soft and grip is higher, it sips in more fuel.
But ZLO has good grip in cornering.

| Any good named brand ie (well Known ) brand of tire is OK you buy the tire to suit your pocket and driving style ! and while a Logan Diesel is not a F1 then a good Firestone or Goodyear or something in that direction is good enough and also like vsuprack says you will not see much difference in fuel consumption ! Hard tyres are not good on water they will Aqua plane (not funny to do this ) I did it in a ford Granada on the Belgium Autobahn ! Lady luck was on my side | |

| hi Dushie,
My car runs on those same shoes. I replaced 4 of them at around 55,000 kms. I feel the ride is much comfortable than with the stock JK Vectra and these tires also allow for more confidence in attacking corners. Tried a few in the Shiradi Ghats (Enroute to Mangalore). I constantly maintain 32PSI in all tires and it helps both with mileage and comfort.
Do you notice the above differences?

| MRF ZLO tyres after 6000kms, tyres are soft and the grip is excellent compared to OEM vectra, the noise is very low even negligible, the control and cornering is very good | |

I use Yokohama A drive and happy with the tyres. Soft tyres, but excellent on wet roads, low tyre noise, good grip as well. I have a question, the manufacturer calls for 28 psi to be maintained, i maintain 30 psi so as to counter the air expansion on long routes, will inflating it to 32 be a cause of concern when the air expands and given to poor conditions of our roads. I mean when a hot tyre rolls over a pot hole ridden holes would it not be dangerous? Just asking and no intention of challenging any post above as it is purely a personal choice, but ask in the interest of safety.

| My Verito D6 has done 52K and has been giving a bumpy ride since last month. I thought the 50K servicing will fix the issue, but it has not. It seems the tyres have lived their life and it is time to change.
After reading this thread I conclude that the top 3 recommendations from the forum are :- 1. Bridgestone Turanza ER60 2. Yokohama A 3. MRF ZLO
Anybody got an experience with Michelin XM2 ? They seem to be the most popular ones in the current lot.
I drive 90 km/day of which 70 km is a cement road. I have heard that the cement road is a tyre's greatest enemy. In this context, should I be purchasing tyres with a "hard" material ? All the above recommendations seem to be "soft" ones.
IMO, all the top brands will be good enough w.r.t. ride quality, noise etc. So I am not concerned about these aspects. I want something that can tackle the harshness of the cement roads. I wont mind spending a few thousands more to get the peace of mind.
Please suggest. | |

| Hi Sachin P, my personal experience with Yokohama A drive has been excellent till date, now they are 4 years old and time to have them replaced with Yokohama again, these are good tyres but the rubber is soft for India road conditions, that does not mean that they puncture every now and then but the probability is slightly high as compared to Bridgestone or MRF. A drive provides excellent wet surface gripping and the vehicle feels more stable , good grip while breaking as well. Bridgestone / MRF are harder tyres and last long, taxi folks use them to save costs as theirs is the vehicle which is on the move, now reading about the KM that you drive in a day, please take a call. The acid test of the tire will be at places like Leh and Ladakh region where the tyre gets abused badly. On such terrain, Bridgestone will hold good. I have a friend in another driving forum, where he used Michelin XM1 when it was launched and drove to Ladakh , he was happy, no punctures , less tyre noise while on the high ways
Hence take a call accordingly.
