| I have some 10 days in May.. I am in Chennai.
Where can I drive to?
Chhattisgarh looks good.. other than the probable naxalite menace. Any other suggestions?

| Hi,
Rajasthan would have been a great driving experience. However, it will be extremely hot. You can actually try out Simla. That would be a good place to visit in Summer. But you may need to extend your leave by a few days in that case.
Regards, Kaustuv. | |

| +1 - Avoid Shimla. I would suggest Uttaranchal (dehradun, etc.) if you want a long road trip.
Closer to home, you could try out northern Karnataka, Goa, etc.

| I've already gone to almost every place in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. So, wanted to try something else.
Anything in Maharashtra?
After reading all the trip reports about Chhattisgarh, I'm having second thoughts about the safety aspects..

| Bhandardara is very beutiful in winter and during rains. In summer it is very hot in the day and cool in the evening and night. You dont have much options for stay there one private hotel and MTDC. You need to book in advance during the holidays. | |

| Hi,
Planning for a trip to Bhutan in April. Nice place to visit during Summer. The ride from Indian border to Thimpu (Capital of Bhutan) is really nice through the Himalayas. Also for India nationals, the rules are very relaxed, you will only require some ID card, car papers photocopy and few copies of passport photo.
Regards, Kaustuv. | |
