My 1.5 dCI 2010 has slight jerk when it is idling, Jerk makes a slight improper shake. The jerk occurs at random intervals.
Car has done 63500 kms so far.
Any idea what may be the issue?

This is a Diesel thing they seem to give a little "Brumms" every so often ! When did you last clean the diesel Filter (FUEL) and also is the air filter clean ? Also do you ever get out on the Highway and take her up to 150kmh for a few minutes ???? That works wonders

HI Guys, i somewhat have the same issue, its just that my Petrol logan vibrates alot during idle (especially when the AC is switched on). No noticeable vibration when the car is running. When the ac is switched off, the car becomes smooth. i had read somewhere that it can be because of imbalanced ac blower.

Stuart,
Well I am not challenging your advice but ask as a novice so as to learn and understand about our dear vehicle.
Mine is a petrol variant, and have never till date never floored the pedal and neither have I crossed the 120 kmph mark in the five years the car has run, but yes many highway drives.
Should we floor the pedal at at intervals say once in a month or so and reach the speed of 130 kmph while doing so in order to get the fuel lines, filters, injectors cleaned while on the drive or what purpose would it help in by doing so.
I have felt and observed the smoothness of other vehicle that I get to drive occasionally which belong to friends / relatives etc , may be they must be flooring the pedal all the while, I have seen this been done by tourist taxi drivers and the vehicle feels very smooth when I get to drive it. Or is it something else?

I always use the the roads ie If they are big and pretty safe then I give Gas I enjoy it and the car enjoys it it keeps the spark plugs also clean by getting them really hot it also give the exhaust a good blow through or an Italian Tune up --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Get the car to its working temperature then Take the car to the motorway and take the car up to the red mark in every gear until in 5th .Now drive as fast as the motorway will allow When you come off the motorway use the gears the same!! Take them out up to the red mark (don't do this everyday though once a month should be OK ) If you are in need of a Timing Belt change then get that done before you attempt to power up the car .I drive my 14mpi pretty hard and it seems to like being treat this way .ok maybe 1 ltr of fuel more but i also want a bit of fun driving

if your car is jerking in idle... you just check the FGR valve. It may get blocked due to bad fuel.

Hi Guys, I need your wisely comments on this issue that i had spoken about.
My Car vibrates a lot when in idle and you can see this in the video above however when i accelerate a bit, the vibration goes off. I did my bit of research and am not able to understand why? This is when the a/c is ON and car is in idle.
A garage mechanic suggested that it could be because of radiator as when it kicks in (when ac is switched on), the car vibrates.
However i read online that this could be because of IAC.
Please provide some inputs if you know what i am talking about or have experienced the same.
Cheers..
A

Thanks for the valuable input Stu........
Btw the vibration is lot more than what the water bottle shows. Towards the end (in the video) when i put some throttle, the car becomes smooth.

If it only vibrates when the AC is on then thats the problem ! The AC takes a lot of power ! as for my valuable input Read under my name !

Hi guys, I own a petrol GLX1.4 version since last four years with regular maintenance services done at authorized dealer G3 Motors in Nerul. Since my last servicing I have been facing problem with starting up the engine early in the morning. Last service was done in Nov when they changed the spark plugs too. Fifteen days back again I approached them as the problem has become severe and they cleaned the fuel filter and said there was some jelly like sediments. But this did not bring the vehicle back to original status but improved the starting status with just two or three attempts. Now I am facing similar jerky problem with my logan since morning. It jerks a lot when RPM needle reaches 10-12 x 1000. Stage. It also jerks when idling but mildly. It is winter now in Mumbai and temp reach only 15 C in the night.
Can any have experience such problem? what solution has been offered by service provider. pl comment.

are you sure they changed the spark plugs ? and are you sure they gave you the correct spark plugs ? also go out to your car and make sure all the spark plug leads are sitting nicely Both ends ie at the plug and the distributer I am sure it has a fuel fumes breather but that is totaly different
You could also get a spark plug spanner (wrench) and check to see if they are tight it does sound like a spark plug problem ! Let us know how you get on

Hi Martin245, thanks for the suggestion. The garage guy told me now that there was problem with the programming of the vehicle which has been set right and expect to deliver the vehicle by afternoon. Will post you feedback upon having experienced the driving.
