| There are rats camping out in my LOGAN! Well.. atleast one rat.
It climbs up inside the bonnet and has makes itself comfortable just behind the left headlight inside the bonnet.
I managed to trap one rat with a spring trap but it got away because one of the rods came lose.
I was constantly using tobacco, but it did not work. Now, I am trying rat kill cakes, sticky traps and continuing with the spring traps. They seem to be consuming rat kill cakes in good quantities and still staying alive!
As of now, there has been no real damage and nothing has been bitten. As far as I know, they stay only in the bonnet.
Any suggestions on how to deal with this?

| Make sure you keep the air selector to 'inside air' at all times when the vehicle is parked at your home. God have mercy if they enter into the car through the air vent. | |

Will start trying this today. But it's a small apartment complex and I have very few choices of parking spots..

I read about what happened to you.. have you managed to keep the rats away from the car completely?

Try to adopt cats as pets. That might prove handy I guess.

| Rats are a menace thats not easy to deal with! Ideally, the only solution i see is dont park your car where you currently do. Park it away from the current place. Rats are more prone to stay in areas close to walls, try parking away from walls and corners. | |

| I had this rat problem.. it's favorite is head light wire, horn wire, wiper wire and wiper water hose... I had to face this problem multiple time... If you take out the car during rain, you will find the wipers wont work, or during night when you return and switch on the head light, it wont work etc. etc.
I started keeping the naphthalene balls every possible place in the bonnet and keep changing it every Sunday... Now a days it is not attacking my car...

| I drowned it. Immersed the whole trap in water for 10 minutes with the rat still inside. It is the only way. Unless we are ready to take it some 2 km away and let it go. Also, some of my friends with experience in these matters tell me that if there is a dead body of a rat lying around in an area, other rats avoid that area. | |
