| Checked out the bigger mirrors recently when i visited the showroom to get my logan washed. The black matt mirrors didnt look good, but the ones on the logan play (which had a black glossy finish) looked good (but the new form factor doesnt add to the beauty of the car). The mirrors are easily foldable. The internal adjustment feedback were not as good as the older ones. The existing ones move with a slight change on the adjuster knob, but the newer ones need more radial movement (the fitting was also not upto mark) . I prefer the existing ones over the newer ones as the newer ones dont give any value addition. (i would have surely replaced if the newer ones were electrically adjustable) | |

| I guess those mirrors have been made locally form some vendor by Mahindra. They are not imported from France like other parts. This is one major concern in case the parts get localised in India. We might need to compromise with the quality.
However foldable mirrors are preferred for Indian roads. Keeping them closed for a few months and then trying to open them always has a chance of breaking. I got two broken that way.

I have never folded them and driven in chennai since the day I got the LOGAN. The mirrors do have a few scratches, but I've gotten so used to using both in peak traffic that I cannot live with any mirror closed..

| I use both always and have never attempted to fold them except while parking at tight spots (not that folding helps much either). I am not too happy with the view from the existing mirrors. Especially the left side mirror - gives very small a view to use while driving in traffic.. | |

| I agree to the point that the view offered by the original design mirrors is not too good. I am planning to put in the small circular mirror (sized bigger than the 2 Rs. coin) which Maruti calls as Magic mirrors, on my left ORVM. They cost about Rs. 49/- . Hopefully they wont eat up much space and will be useful just-in-case.
Anybody already using those??

| Hey Surya I thought of installing those small mirrors also, below are the reference pix but i was afraid they'd take up more space on the already small Logan Mirrors! If you do install them and find it comfortable, do let me know! | |

| mir......said...... this is complicated... at least for me.
i think the company fitted mirrors provide enough and sufficient view. again this is my personal thinking but yaar we all have a blind spot....if an object ( here for ex a bike ) is in the blind spot it wont be visible to the driver if he doesnt turn his head back or wait for a second.......the blindspot viewers are intended to overcome this difficulty......this is extremely useful for absentminded drivers/freshers(not recommending for anyone to be absent minded while driveing ..they get their reward now or later).....you can check this blindspot by getting in the driverseat when the car is parked by the side of a road ..... look into the mirror to see the bikes overtaking you..at one point they will disappear but will not appear by the side window.....then after a second they will appear by the side window......

| Yesterday I went to Mohan motors, kolkata to enquire about the new ORVMs. They as of n ow have the ones that can only be controlled manually by touching the mirror of the ORVMs. The Logan refresh collection comes with these manual ones and the ones that are electrically controlled.
I asked if the electrically controlled ones can be fitted in my Logan. The service advisor said that this will be tough job, because for electrically controlled mirrors the entire wiring of the car is different. I am yet to digest this. This entirely different kind of wiring just for mirrors will just increase production cost of Logan. So I don't believe this.
I asked for the new ORVMs which can be controlled manually using the levers. He was not aware if the new ORVMs come with these manual levers. I had to tell him that Logan Play comes with these kind of mirrors, because I have seen these from the Logan Play test drive pics in some other website. He said he will order them for me. Lets c what happens.

| I got the new side mirrors fitted today. They are internally adjustable using the lever. These side mirrors look very appropriate with Logan's looks. They are quite big and look almost like that of Suzuki SX4.
@Stu: The electrically controlled ones here folds the entire mirror also but they are not heated. Bat as I said those need entire electric wire replacement costing around Rs 20000. I could not take the risk of buying these and fit them from other local workshop.
@Saumil: I asked the service advisor if these mirrors can be fitted in DLE. He is very ignorant of that and was not sure. But my feeling is that the DLE models also have grooves on both the body and the door pads. So internally adjustable mirrors should fit in DLE models too. Please send one pic of your door pad near the side mirror.

| 2 mirrors with fitting as well as removing the existing mirrors cost me Rs 3387. The mitrrors are black colored by default. These are less costly than the old ones where each mirror with paint cost around 2000 bucks. | |
