cheap inferior or downright duplicate ?. see i got my logan rims shimmed and changed my original pads ( when they had worn out ) to bosch made ones. my braking immediately regressed and it started feeling downright scary as these new pads were not offering any bite whatsoever. ran on these for some time and then repalced the pads with FBX made ones. braking improved immediately. the bosch ones were not wearing out at all. hardly any carbon after a month of use . would this be a case of duplicate pads ? |

| Yes it is correct. AS per the service book, the period for changing the engine oil is 5000 kms.But the service personnel saying that it is 10000 kms that's what just contradictory to what written in the service book.
During last service, I changed the engine oil and they charged @Rs.1000 per liter. I had spent RS.4000 for the engine oil only. It is said to be synthetic oil. But I haven't noticed any changes in engine performance. The service person said that then the engine oil changing period is 30000 kms or 18 months which ever is earlier. |

| There is always a big debate about synthetic and mineral oils. Personally i have not noticed any change in the engine performance because of synthetic oil. Maybe it works silently without any noticable change |

| Hi all...
So you recommend fully synthetic oil?Coz i'm changing my oil in this week & may be 1)Shell Helix Ultra 5W40 or 2) Total quartz 9000 5W40.
I earlier used Total semisynthetic 10w40 in my petrol esteem. much better results than 20w40 oil.
Does make wurth 20w50 solve the purpose of Renault DCI 1.5? coz it's very cheap,my friend has dealership of it. i gets at Rs.180/ltr. Now the same oil is in my engine & 8000 kms have crossed, still the oil feels sticky & hasn't lost it's viscousness.
Tell me stu what should i do?
May be should i try Sythetic oil after engine flushing....? |

| Synthetic oil is dear but worth it if you do a lot of mileage and lots of stop start work |

| Is it necessary to do a flush before changing to synthetic oil? I am planning to use a synthetic one. Was also thinking about changing the oil myself this weekend. |

| I would not bother ! If you are doing the job yourself then take time and let all the oil run out and change the filter and put in the new oil You will not have any crap inside your motor if you have been doing the regular oil changes so just change the OIL and dont worry |

Talking of replacement parts , i have ordered an IAC valve from Berlin, germany as a replacement for the Siemens VDO made 95177 which is in my car. Hope this is good quality. Dacia shop still doesnt ship to non EU. , not even Switzerland ( my cousin settled there, he would have sent me. ) now the only option to get anything from there is to ship it to UK and then have a relative send it from there. |
