| Welcome to the Forum Murtaza. The Logan is indeed a good car. Not very flashy though. Like many others on the forum beleive, it slowly grows on you. It is just an example of poor marketing. Do let us know what you do and what your interests apart from Logan are. Surya | |

| Hi Murtaza, Good choice. I had a budget of 6 lacs.. I spent much less to get a 1.4 GLX. I have driven Fords, Hyundais, TATAs, Marutis... but Logan was the winner. Haven't regretted the decision for a moment. | |

| Nobody hates one's own belonging, that too when its very expensive. Will u blame and complaint to others about ur ugly wife if u see a super beauty in the streets? We all are human beings and try to remain satisfied with what we have. When I used to drive a Maruti 800 I believed my car's the best. Now I hardly look back at it. I always like to own a diesel SX4, but sadly the diesel version not available till now, so I have to settle with the proverb "Grapes are sour" i.e our Indian Logan's the best. Eropean Logan might be a more solid one. Every auto analyst in India suggests premium hatchbacks but not our Logan. Why?? are they freaks or taking money from rival auto companies. | |

| i do not agree with one point. if auto analysts are not suggesting logan as a option it does not mean logan is not worht suggesting. they are commercial people and will talk only about what is being accepted. they will never try to create acceptance unless they see some business in that. low sales on logan = low popularity = low acceptance = low interest on all fronts if there would have been massive sales they would be seen all the times about it. | |

| I have to visit the service center every month with the complaint of noises from places. And each time I have to pay 500 to 2000. It pains me to calculate how much value I have got from it. This may be low compard to other cars in its class... I ma not sure? | |

| I realize what you mean. I am a Logan fan but I do know that there are short-comings in the car. It'd be nice to see Mahindra Renault come up with an improved version which will silence the critics. | |

| On Nayandep's comments about defending your choce, I don't see a super beauty on the streets ! I used to drive an Alto before I got the Logan. I still have the Alto. I never thought the alto was the best. I didn't buy the logan by mistake. I evaluated many cars, and have driven other brands on many occassions. I am an avid driver and love to hit the road. I could easily have bought the Dzire.. but I simply did not like the car, and I've driven it on many occassions. I got the Logan, because that's the car i wanted... before I drove it, after I drove it , and after I bought it... not a moments regret. | |

| Welcome here Murtaza...... Well, I had my eyes set on the logan since august 2006 when i first saw it in autocar magazine and then after 2 years i bought it. Reasons were obvious, I needed a roomy family car and i was on a budget. So went for it. I also own a maruti 800 and i still drive it, infact more than the logan. So the facts are clear, You need to be honest and decide the purpose why you want a car. If it is going to be your first car and you live in a metro, I d suggest don't' go for it.....Simply because there are much improved cars in the same price range.. My 2 cents N | |

| If there's a product that's giving me troble how can I praise it? Very simple. See I cannot tell any product is good just because the other rival produsts are bad. Nobody buys an expenseive product like a car by mistake. Its affordabilty and mode of need that governs the choice. | |

| Well ! I would say.. it's not as much fun driving a vehicle like Logan on Delhi Roads right now... with the Metro rail construction and common wealth games preparation hapenning .. half the city is dug up... You may not wan't a hydraulic power steering in conditions like these. | |

| for hydraulic power steering apart from the low cost i dont see any other benefit. i too dont find it that great when compared to the electric power steering which is extremely light to handle. | |

| But EPS doesnt give a weighted feel like HPS at high speed driving (80+) unless it has speed responsive assist | |

| Most of the times, mechanical linkages are more powerful than automatic electronic linkages. Specially for male drivers. Take Scorpio Automatic for example. It is very refined and a very convinient SUV to drive around, but it lacks the punch and the rush that scorpio's manual transmission provides. EPS will always feel lighter than HPS. | |

| Check this it will clear your doubts regarding Power Steerings - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_steering From Wiki: ----------------- Electric systems have a slight advantage in fuel efficiency because there is no belt-driven hydraulic pump constantly running, whether assistance is required or not, and this is a major reason for their introduction. Another major advantage is the elimination of a belt-driven engine accessory, and several high-pressure hydraulic hoses between the hydraulic pump, mounted on the engine, and the steering gear, mounted on the chassis. This greatly simplifies manufacturing and maintenance. | |

If not, then at 80km+ your turn of the stering wheel will take you offinto another land. So, EPS + Variable assist = More cost | |

| Yes it works by speed sensors Usualy taken from the ABS and if you are going slow you have more power on the steering for parking and such and at higher speeds you need less power to move the wheels | |
