| Hi guys,
just discovered this forum.
I bought a second hand 1.5dlx 2 years agao (run 10000 km) and right now near 30000km.
However i am having issues with mileage. I keep hearing of 16-17 kmpl in city with ac but i dont get anywhere near. Currently i am getting 12-13 kmpl (with ac) and on a trip to banglore got 22.5 kmpl (120 kmh).
do you have any suggestions..I have taken it for servicing here and these guys keep saying it will get better now but it really doesnt. the clutch is also hard any pointers on what i should be doing please let me know.
thanks andy | |

| Hi Arcmax, Your highway mileage of 22.5 kmpl actually is very normal as what we others are getting here. Going by that I would say that your normal city driving should get you atleast 16 kmpl. Please do consider these points: > How long is your normal city commute? > Traffic conditions (stop & go)? > Always in 1st/2nd or 3rd gear? > AC on / off full time? > Does engine get sufficient time to warm up? > Do you run the car daily? Depending on the above factors, the mileage may vary. These are the points I can think of right now. Am sure other members can give insights into this as well. Remember not to rev hard when u start ur car and in lower gears. Also keep yres inflated to the mentioned pressure (29psi). I hope this will help. | |

| From what you mention, except for the stop & go traffic, it seems to be pretty similar to my commute. How many km has ur car travelled so far? Just check once with your dealer during the next service and mention about the mileage ur getting. If possible, try changing the diesel station to rule out fuel quality concern. | |

| Hi Arcman dude....I own a Petrol logan and ve been using it for the last 15 months...Done 18000 kms till date... I used to get ard 12kmpl like any other petrol logan user....But then i switched to a new petrol pump and since then the milage has gone up by 2.5-3kmpl......and its been like this for the last 2000 kms..... Have you been going to any particular pump all this while...? If yes, then change it..Most Important thing....Take fuel during the coldest hour in the day/Night....fuel is more dense then and you get more fuel for the same price....I get it filled at 4 am (i work in nite shift) and the last 2000kms have been a joy ride.... Gud Luck.... N | |

| Oh come on You get more fuel at night I have heard some stuff in my life but that takes the Biscuit The tanks are underground and they will Keep to the same temp You cannot get more fuel past the regulator ! It just measures the fluid or will you tell us next that if we fill our tanks up on a cold evening to the TOP ....the next day when it gets warm it will shoot out or even explode | |

| The density of the fuel would be high during cooler times. Unlike metal, fuel turns into vapour and escapes through the 'breather' hole. Hence, the initiative to park it in shade and also for other obvious reasons. The temperature here exceeds 40 degrees C and may even go upto 50 degrees C and more during summer time. Even though the tanks are stored underground the heat transfer would take place. I do remember reading about this in the TATA/Fiat webpage sometime back. I checked for the same now but couldn't find that material. | |
