my car's front right wheel was punctured last week so i replaced stepney wheel wit it.after that i repaired the puncture n replaced original wheel back.
nw at high speeds around 130+ the car's steering is vibrating.is it due to improper tyre pressure cause the ride was kinna bumpy.that puncture guy's pressure meter might be faulty or somethin.

I would say that when they repaired the wheel they also took of the wheel balance weight and it will wobble like crazy if this is the case so go and get them balanced prefably on the car

wheel balancing and alignment is needed to get this right. without this you will always feel vibrations.

try this. one of the symptoms.
start engine and keep it in neutral gear.
move your steering from extreme left to extreme right to extreme left.
you will feel some unusual experience on your steering. this suggests you need balancing and alignment job.

Hey Mir how can you tell that you need your wheels balancing by standing still ? This will only show when the wheel is TURNING at a speed and then it starts to wobble .This normaly kicks in at around 60 t0 70 and then goes away at 120 (If you dare drive it that fast when its wobbling)
OK you could get it if the steering is shot but his car is too new and he has just had a puncture so its going to be on THAT wheel which has been messed with

i learnt this from the mechanic.

he put the car on flat paved surface, turned on the engine and was moving the steering left to right by moving very small distance which is almost nothing. this he did before actually putting the car on the wheel balancing machines.

he did his job and then made me sit in his place and do the same. i could understand what he was trying to convey by feeling the steering at that point in time.

after that he performed the wheel balance alignment and air presures on all wheels. we repeated the same exercise and the flow was a lot smooth.

I was also facing similar problem. Above 110 km/hr, there was a vibration on the steering even on a smooth road. Got the wheel balancing and alignment done and now the steering is absolutely okay. It also seems to be a bit smoother compared to what it was before the balancing.
