| I am an owner of Logan 1.4GLX. Whenever I shift the gear from 4th to 5th, suddenly the RPM goes to 3000 automatically and engine becomes fast without increase in the speed. I have moved to 5th gear at speed of 70-80. I have even tried making the RPM to around 1000 at the 4th gear and then without touching accelerator i shifted to 5th, but still the engine automatically becomes fast and RPM goes to 3000.
Can anybody explain this ?? | |

| If the Engine becomes faster with No increase in speed then this sounds like a slipping clutch A test that you can make is this ! Park the car ,Start the engine, put it into 4th gear (WITH HANDBRAKE ON ) now let out the clutch slowly and if the revs get faster and the car does not stall ,Your clutch is slipping Yes Me | |

| pardon me if I am wrong.. but my wife complained about this problem.. when I sat with her I realised that instead of going to 5th.. she was slipping to 3rd gear and that was the problem.. i would humbly suggest that one checks for the extra pull one has to use to push it into 5th... | |

| I think you are right on this one BUT I never dreamed this could happen In fact it cannot be right We must all know about our gears !!!! Or? EVERYONE knows how to change gear and WHAT happens if you change down and not up !!!!!!!!!!!! I am getting very confused here while this cannot be true ,I THINK THIS IS A WIND UP | |

| this can be it. though it could mistakenly happen specially with some one who regularly does not drive, but it could not happen normally. | |
