| Subject: Service after 60000 KMs Model DLX Wed May 25, 2011 7:19 pm | |
| Hi everyone,
I went for servicing my car today as it completed 60k KMs few days ago. And I got call from service person who was attending my car that there are few things needed to be replaced. I am naming those here:
1) Right Hand Side Axle Boot (worn out and leaking fluid) 2) Brake Pad (Got these changed around 40k) 3) Brake Disc ( He is saying these might work till another service but not sure) 4) Gear Mounting (Saying gear box vibrations are because of this) 5) Steering End ( I told him Steer is bit hard so he checked not sure changing this is the only solution what about using some lubricants)
I am not sure if somebody else also got all these replaced on or before 60k KMs.
Also, he was suggesting me to change the time belt which I denied. He said it should be replaced on 60K service.
Please suggest what to do as these all things will take away a lot of money from my pocket..And I will go to service center tomorrow again for confirming these replacements...
Thanks in advance! Ashish Jain | |

| just get the axel gaiter done the brakes will be OK if you have only done 20k on them wait as well with the disks untill you change the pads ! up your tyre pressure a bit to get rid of the heavy steering gearbox vibration ??? is this your gearstick vibrating a little bit ? Thats normal .if it vibrates a lot (like crazy) then it needs doing

| Thanks Martin for the quick response!
I got Steering End and Gear Mounting replaced today as service person shown me the rubber part of those which were broken and could create problem in future. And you are right, I saw Brake discs and pads and found I could trust those for few more KMs so didn't get those replaced.
And, Axel boot wasn't available with them as of now so checked outside today and found with one which I will get replaced asap. I am not sure if after buying it from outside should I go to service center people for getting it replaced or I can do it outside as well (Is there any specific skill required for getting it replaced in Logan or is it same as that of Gear Mounting and Steering where I feel like I could get those replaced outside which could save me some money.
And I need to replace tyres as well, which ones I should purchase. Just wanted to mention here that I was really happy with JK tyre performance. If there is some better then I would go for that.
Thanks! | |
