Guys what worries me is the Launch of Xylo, saying days of Sedan are over. Logan is Mahindra's Baby ... a sedan. How can they refute another kid.

I am quite upset with its launch. It effectively means ...buying sedan is outdated .. which its not.

Xylo could be a peer ...When I see their add I see my Logan being crushed by Xylo

What do you say ...

Another interesting fact I guessed , on the xylo portal, the price of Xylo correct to Rs. 500 ex showroom Delhi !

Smile ... typical.. but it is a carefully thought out plan to eat into competion sedans .. and then bring the same clientele into a Mahindra showroom.. mostly first timers...

Don't worry, people have the commonsense to decide whats best for them. Anybody shelling out this much money will consider all the facts and figures. The Xylo is in direct competition with Innova but it has the potential to bring in customers looking at other options too.

I read this in some interview, that they are no more interested in sedans. They know that UVs are their forte. That is why they were so interested in buying LandRover. So, all their future planning is around UVs.

In my opinion, the products on the Logan platform will be the only other offering they'll have.

They cancelled the Logan MCV citing reasons that it was proving too expensive to built. I think it was axed because it would have been a direct threat to its cousin, the Xylo!

Coming to the topic of the thread, i think Mahindra's marketing is screwed. Positioning a UV against the sedan is a good idea (even though, I don't think a sedan buyer will ever buy a UV just for road presence or extra space. A UV can never give you the same feeling a sedan gives) . But totally rubbishing sedans is over the top. And I think they forgot that they make a sedan too!

marketing is really screwed. or may be renault is stopping india dream...
dont know what is correct.

in my opinion if mahindra is interested in taking logan sales ahead how the hell can they crush a SEDAN under the XYLO.

i am sure XYLO provides mahindra with more profit margins then a logan which is in collaboration with renault.

not good at all and really worry some.

Seems M&M is no longer interested to continue with Passenger Cars and may not want to forge more ties for other products from the Renault Stable.

Just hope that the product & its owners dont suffer due to the lack of company focus.

absolutely....
though logan is fabulous lack of new models entering indian market from renault raises concerns. that too when india is not that bad hit by recession. i see so many new cars on the ahmedabad roads. many are high end like toyota, honda city. where is the recession?

now i understand why the wise ones always go for a TATA or MARUTI though they may not be the best....

however i still stand for logan as i have outperformed many on a logan on the highway.

during one trip of 100 kms from ahmedabad till baroda there was no single car that overtook me once i left them behind. gr8...

Recession is the best time for purchasing anything because of huge discounts, less interest rate and seller is more pleasing and hearing our bargainings and all.But one thing we should have money to spend in the time of recession.

discount, less intrest rate etc. are measures to curb recession.
Its not that recession is right time to buy something.

And at the end one needs money to buy. If money is flowing freely then any economy cant go into recession is the idea. This is what i see happening.
apart there are no discounts on honda / toyota / audi cars.... anyways these are moving around...
