Redline in Logan Tacho

Hi ,

I have a July '08 1.4 GLX. As you must be knowing , unlike other cars the Logan does not have a marked redline on its tachometer - which is calibrated upto 7k RPM. I was curious as to what this means. Does it mean we can take it all the way upto the limit or does the rev limiter cut in at a certain rpm ? If I'm not mistaken , most cars redline around 6.5 - 7k rpm so maybe Logans have only the permissible RPM range by default on the tachos.


P.S. - I have a sports exhaust (only modified end can though) and the highest I have taken her is to 6k rpm in 2nd. Sounds good

Its just a stupid omission from Renault.

Which endcan have you installed? Why not post a soundclip!?

Even I have been looking for a FFE for my car from Automech. Sad that they have not developed it yet.

thanks Ashu ! The end can I got is locally made - don't remember the brand. It's one with the usual chrome finish. Will try and post a clip soon.

About the FFE - I spoke to one delhi based tuner and he said that it can be custom made for the Logan - but no one has done it yet. I am planning to get one for myself , the only issues being warranty and the fact that it's never been tested on a Logan in India AFAIK

This is about two months after installation so the sound has become more muffled due to carbon build ups. It also sounds a little different when revving high in gears. Enjoy !
