Hi Guys,

Planning to take a trip to Kolkata from Bangalore (18 th to 22nd dec)and back (1st to 4th Jan). Any suggetion of prechecks that is required for the car?

Also any idea about NH 60 road condition , learnt from some forum, it was washed out in July rains.

Thanks in advance..

Check all fluid levels coolant/brake fluid/engine oil/power steering/window washing water. Once I was about to go for a long drive and happened to open the bonnet and say the coolant level suddenly had gone below Minimum.

Check Tyre Pressure
Carry a Tubeless Tyre repair kit in the car (in remote areas maybe difficult to get tubeless tyres fixed)

All the above listed by Tomlai and also inform the same to the service center people. If its still in the running-in period you could have the car run-in wonderfully during this trip. Make sure you don't exceed the RPM limit and also stop in-between.

Tomlai has said it well. Will just add..
- Get the fuel tank loaded full before leaving.
- If possible, take note of the Mahindra-Renault service stations and their emergency helpline numbers.
- Don't forget the first aid kit supplied with car.

Finally I am ready to roll tomorrow (18th Dec). Finalised the route. This time the focus the best FE and will follow all norms to get the results. The road is part of "Golden Quadrilateral " for about 1600Kms. What better ground to check.

Thanks for all the advice and all the checks are "affirmative".

Will update when ever online...

The trip is over , a total of 4765 Km's driven over 7 Days with a inbetween break of 11 days. It was far easier than the thought of the jorney itself. The car simply "too good" the average fuel ecnomy was 24KMPL with an average speed of 100, with 50 % of the time AC on (andhra was hot even now..).

Thanks to all for your good wishes..

One thing though, the rear right window is making a sound on bad roads.. Smile

you actually can do that if you are using GPS with GOOPS. This is a free application that charts your way in googleearth. Matter of fact i used the same thing. As for pictures, i would post them as soon i get them downloaded from the camera...

Use a Holux GPS dongle linked to Google Earth on a laptop via Earthbridge software.
