Things to Check Before Delivery

Hello Everyone,

My name is Nitin and live in gzb. I have been a huge fan of the logan and have been reading about it for more than 3 years now. Not to mention i wanted to buy one.

Now, I have booked the Logan 1.4 GLE yesterday(Boy!! i am jumping with joy) and there are a few things where i would need all your valueble inputs.

To begin with, how to proceed with the formalities and what all to check before they hand over the keys. Thanks in advance fellas!!!!!

1. the number plates ( i know it sounds funny, but i dint get mine for
three days after delivery)
2. when the registration certificate and insurance papers would be given to you
3. check if the seats are dirty with the mechanics fingerprints.
4. see if any company put tinted windows are done neatly.
5. see if your auto locking system works fine!!
6. first take it to the fuel station and get the air checked

7. Ask them to bring the car out, and in sunlight, check the car for
any dents, major scratches, paint mismatch.
8. Finalize what freebies you'll get and get them installed/ fitted in
your presence.
9. Take a test drive of the car before leaving the dealership, check if
everything is working fine.
10. Check the fuel guage (usually there is enough fuel for you to go to
the nearest fuel station).

11. My dealer would give a 5LT or 10LT fuel voucher for your first fill at
a designated petrol pump.

12. Make sure you are getting both the Service Manual as well as the
service coupon booklet (these are separate boolkets)

13. As regarding the paint work, open all doors and check in the inner
pillars, especially the pillar between front & rear door on both
sides.

Normally, any mishandling by mechanics causes minor scratches. The
dealer tends to buff these areas and touchup with paint which can be
clearly seen if any in bright light.

14. Check if all wheel caps are properly fit. Else you will reach home
and the caps will reach elsewhere.

15. Jack and wrench in proper place.

16. Make sure that the Engine no. & chassis no. typed in your service
manual is not overwritten, cut across or re-written.
Dealers get manuals separately, so cases of re-writing usually happens.

17. Take contact nos. of the service station and the contact person.
You will need this in case of an emergency.

18. Open fuse box and check if spare fuses are kept properly. (will be
of great help)

Please don't forget to check the Km done reading, i had a bad experience where they were dumping a car which had done 450kms already on me, i refused to take the same and put my foot down.

Normally the car should have covered less than 50km, in all PDI test and runs, if its over that be cautious before accepting the same.

Ideal will be to visit the stockyard, inspect the car and check the km reading, then ask them to register the same vehicle,
