Dude,
I share ur sorrow brother, a foolish bike driver rammed into me from behind and tore my bumper. I have a hole in the bumper thanks to his front mud guard that tore into it.. On checking with the service station, they say they'll have to replace the conplete bumper which would cost me about Rs.7,500 {for waiting at the signal Mad }
I am looking for someone who could repair the bumper and theen i'll get it painted...

The only problem is that a repaired bumper is a less than safe bumper, same as I would not ride a bike with a helmet that has been through a crash and repaired, they don't offer the same protection ...

Saumil, I agree with Tom, other than that a repaired bumper does not look good, it looks patchy also you would not be getting the paint from anywhere outside, you will have to go back to them. Believe me the cost of the bumper is not much, it is the paint job which is a killer.
I had changed my bumper after an accident it cost me 8k plus taxes.
This is the problem with today's vehicles You have no option but to go back to the OEM, nothing(parts) is available outside to get your job done through smaller garages.

My bumper just just got a 1 sq inch dent. I have decided to fix it myself. Its really sucks to pay so much of our hard earned money. this weekend I will do a research on how to fix it by myself and let u know guys.

However for a torn bumper as in the case of Saumil I think u have to go for plastic welding which many garages must provide.

Rear Bumper Fascia - 3066
{ http://mahindralogan.blogspot.com/2007/12/logans-cheapest-to-maintain.html }
The killer is the paint and installation cost..
about 4-5000
Also, i always thought the bumpers were cosmetic and not realy for safety... isnt it...
The paints are available at many garages.. good reputed ones..

Yes Saumil, I also found the price as 3066. How come Debashis was charged 8k for that one? I have already consoled my heart that these scratches and dents are very common. We have to live with it in Indian roads.

Hi, today my Logan's rear bumper came off from the left side. Thanks to a standing ambassador parked beside. There is no dent on the bumper, but one or two holes which hold the screws have broken. I took it to the workshop. They fitted it as by screwing the existing holes. But the bumper feels a bit loose. Do u guys know if plastic welding is available in India or in ways I can plug-in thethe rotn holes. The bad thing about the bumper of Logan being soft is that at light collision the bumper grooves got broken.

Plastic welding is done but i doubt if its done so professionally.
There are these guys who move around here in Mumbai who do it for you. But yes at a workshop, not the company one, you could find someone..

The service people fit the bumper quite tightly, but there is some gap between the bumper and the body. I will again visit the service center tomorrow to bug them as to why that is so. If one or two bumper grooves are really broken, then the bumper can be moved sideways or upwards. If that is not happening and the bumper sits quite tightly in its place then I think they have not fitted it well.

Hi guys,there are outlets who take care of repairs on bumpers-plastic welding equipment is used.Me being from Chennai there is an outlet near Royapettah dargah.,where this is carried out.Even Skoda/Hyundai Sonata dealers bring the vehicles here-make the repair for a cool 500 Rs. or so and give an hefty bill to the owner.I have my bumpers repaired -(both front & back) & the total charge inclusive of paints is 3K-this happened due to the erratic driving of the 2 wheeler drivers in Chennai city criss crossing me in front & back.

Oh that's cool. The dealers just rob us. Today I again went to the workshop and disturbed them demanding them to show the logic why the bumper shoul;d be in line with the body. I forced them to take off the bumper and raise the body lining, that hold the bumper screws, with the help of a crowbar kind of thing. And now the bumper fits quite like a normal one, and no one can tell that this side of the bumper has some broken screw grooves. So u guys simply hold on to the workshop peple and squeeze as much as u can. We have bought such an expensive product, so why should we?

I would say, buy the bumper and then take it to a good workshop and have it painted and fixed. If you can get it mended then consider painting it yourself with the kit from COM-PAINT.

I have found one local workshop at Kolkata, who does plastic welding. I was not able to know the price, because the head of that job was not present. But I did found one Audy Jeta was having some repairing work done there. Hope I can get the broken screw grooves weldedand fit the my Logan's bumper.

If you did come across a 'VOLKSWAGEN JETTA' and if it was being worked upon then you can safely assume that they do a proper job. Let us know the cost. I have no information about bumper welding in Bangalore. Does anyone in Bangalore know about one?
