| I am not sure if this a problem but is an issue I face. Once I get in and turn the ignition on (dash lights on), the doors automatically lock. The moment I turn the key to start the engine, the doors unlock again. Then after some time it locks again. I have installed an Autocop remote locking system, which I got done through the dealer. I have a DLX which did not have remote locking.
Similarly the doors lock when I keep the ignition switch on the ACC position for some time and when I turn it to the ON position (dash lights on) the door unlocks again and waits a while before it locks again. So is the case with my CD player, when i turn from ACC to ON, it goes off once and comes back and gain when I actualkly start, it goes off and comes back.
I checked with the service technician and he initially acknowledged the problem but later when he returned the vehicle he said it was a safety feature and that even scorpios have it!
Case in point: Say I switch off at a signal - the door unlocks (with the usual sound which is not too silent). I want to listen to music - so I keep the switch on ACC position - now the door locks again (thud) and now I turn it to ON (dash lights on), (another thud) and then I start, the doors unlock again (thud) and after moving a small distance, they lock again (thud)
Can some one who has been able to make sense out of my rather confusing narration, share with me how your systems work? My actual problem is while I actually crank the engine, the doors unlock and music player switches off and comec back again - Is this normal?

| Hey Dhanushan, For audio system, observations from my car. 1. Put key in slot >> turn to ACC >> Audio System ON 2. Turn key further to ON >> Audio System Switches off, then turn on after some delay 3. Turn key to IGNITION >> Audio System Switches off, then turn on after some delay This feature is getting common on vehicles now, as when you turn the key each time, the electrical system is designed to prevent and accidental voltage surge to the installed electronic systems which are very sensitive. For Keyless Entry (Remote Locking) , observations from my Toyota Dealership. 1. Autocop has a setting which lock all dors on each turn of the key (bcoz the power goes OFF & ON in that temporary stage while you tuurn the key) 2. Certain models of Autocop have a setting wherein you can disable AUTOLOCK. IMPORTANT With the above setting, In case you leave the key in the slot (in ACC or ON or IGNITION position) and you move out of the car and close the door, THE DOORS MAY LOCK AUTOMATICALLY
Be aware of this fact

| Additional Info: Now that I myslef got Autocop installed on my car, 1. whenever you turn off the engine, the doors unlock. This is because of the wiring done keeping the central locking in the loop (only the fitment guy can tweak it to override that setting, which is not recommended) 2. During the rains in last week, my Siren caught a viral attack and its throat went down. My dealer called Autocop guys and they cam eto my office to rectify it within 30 minutes. However, the moment he changed the position of the siren to horizontal, some hidden watwer flowed out and it was all ok again. So folks, if u are using autocop, make sure ur siren is mounted horizontal like shown below | |
