| You cant compare it with life insurance but yes you can compare with it car insurance or health insurance - you never know when yo need that, as I mentioned. But yes if you need that then all your premium cost is covered at one go because any major fault will not cost anything less than 20,000. The power steering fact I mentioned is a true incident happened with one my friend with his new Indica (the same who drives Logan, now purchased Dzire), where they failed to renew the ext warr and very next month the steering failed and they had to spend around 65000 for that. (I will try to get more details). | |

| I am totally supporting the words of Mr Martin.Extented warranty means they want to earn more money through service after our orginal warranty. It is not only for this company all the companies are doing the same because after completing the warranty very few people will go to the service due to our time limit and all.so the company is forcing us to come to the service centre through extended warranty. If any one have good ideas pls share it in this forum | |

| Well , i went to the service center, only 10 days left for me to extend the warranty by 2 years as the original warranty is expiring by 24 September 09. that is when my car turns 2 years old,
i am not able to decide to go for the extended warranty or not , the service center manager says, that till now no vehicle has come for service in the extended warranty as most vehicles are 2,1/2 year old after launch and till not they have not serviced not faced any issues.
He also said that he has serviced few logans that have crossed 80,000kms and the clutch is still good.
Also he said that the clutch cable becomes hard and in extended warranty they replace it for free, normally the same would cost Rs 8o0+400 = Rs 1200 (part+labor) .
So guys what do u recommend, should i go for it or drop it and save my Rs 14,600.
My driving is less in 2 years i have only driven around 18,500 km

| Am stuck with a similar situation now. While I know that the Logan sure ahs a good build quality & part reliability and I'll probably never have to claim anything under the warranty, even my car will turn 2 yrs old in November. There's no point in asking the dealer as I already know what his advice is going to be. Early responses from colleagues has been that I must skip it. I thought I wouldnt have to but I'm actually | |

| Precaution is better than cure...............so its not a bad idea to purchase it, specially for ppl with Diesel version. Cause when you sell it, it can help in fetching a better deal.... My 2 cents.... N | |

| there is 1 year extended warranty also available which is cheaper. i see this more as a peace of mind option.. on the site http://www.mahindrarenault.com/logan_extended_warranty.html they have a list of things which do not fall under warranty and a list of things that is covered. now just to mention one A/C Compressor falls under both. See Airconditioning under A and see item h under B. One has to be clear as to what all things will they actually cover as it is not clear from the website. | |

| Well Mir the challenge is if you go for extension for one year and end of 3rd year if you want one more year extension that is not possible, i asked about this and they clearly said before the 2 year warranty ends u can either go for extension for 2 more years or 1 more year,
If i go for 1 year, after 3rd year it cant be extended for one more year.
So , have to decide on the same now itself

| I have finally come to a decision. Not going in for extended warranty.
Somehow knowing the detail and quality levels that went in during the part development of this product, I feel I'll not need it.
Maybe its a little skewed decision, but then, even I were planning to take the ext. warranty, it would have been the 1 yr thing only.

| Hitesh, I agree with Mir, i also have 3 days left to go for extended warranty and as of now i deciding on the same, but i feel extended warranty is more beneficial for high usage cars, like u have driven more than 65,000kms,
For cars with less usage, i dont feel it will be fruitful, my car will complete 2 years on 25 Sept and i have done 19,000 kms.
Spending another Rs 14,600 for 2 years extended warranty is pinching me, also they wont cover wear and tear parts like break pads,. Also as my driving is less i only get my vehicle serviced once in 8 to 10 months.
So as of now i may not go for the extended warranty, as it may not help in my case, but heavy users of the vehicle may find it beneficial.

| Hi Guys, I recieved a SMS from the Dealer to go in for Extended Warranty for 2 years 14600/-. I had gone through this thread earlier and it reminded me about the extended warranty discussion that was done in this thread. I have completed 25000 Kms in 18 months on 1.5 DLX I wanted to know from you guys if anyone has opted for Extended Warranty and had claimed any parts under the extd warranty. Is it a good decision to go in for the extended warranty? Regards Vishal A | |

| I took 1 year ext warranty, but passed on 28th and did not work for me. I tried to force them to change some parts like clutch cable, clutch push plates but those were not covered. On talking to them I felt that only very major parts were covered with lot of conditions. | |
