Hi Guys, I am lucky so far, haven't had to drive my Logan thru deep flooded streets, but have driven through 6" deep water though. Everything is still dry ..

When water entered in my earlier car, I would IMMEDIATELY REMOVE all permanent carpeting, my old faithful LOCAL mechanic would do this for me for Rs. 300-400 (simply unbolt seats and remove). You can alternatively get the boys who fit car seats at the accessories shops to do the same (anyday cheaper than at the Service workshop)

Drive WITHOUT carpeting, (you can replace the loose footmats), till monsoon season is WELL over. In late October or so, weather dependant, I would refit the carpeting, which would be left to dry thoroughly on my verandah. Better to have wet smelly carpeting on the verandah than inside the car rusting the car body!

In our kind of weather and bad drainage system, nothing else would do really!

Monsoons are coming back. And so are some related issues.

This time around, I've noticed some wetness in the boot area.
As you know, there are 2 small recess areas (depressions) on either side of the spare tire bay.
On the left side depression, I find some wetness after heavy rains.

Initially I thought that it might be due to the replaced Tail lamp on that side. But then, I recollected that I had seen this happen on 2 occasions even last monsoon.

Anyone with similar experience?

I got my car serviced on saturday.

According to the service centre the problem is due to A/C vent pipe. It was half outside and half inside which was accumulating water near driver seat. I was further told that because of gallery provided for wiring the water travelled to rear seats also. They have repaired this A/C pipe, and extended it with additional pipe so that it never again jumps in the cabin. They have to dismental and re assemble the dashboard since the pipe is under it.
Got my car back on sunday evening.

Hope the problem is solved. The service was excellent. They were eager to listened to your problem, discussed the probeble cause with you. I don't understand why people are not happy with the service centre. "G3 Motors in Nerul, Navi Mumbai" is very professional.
About the milage they told that getting 8.5 to 9 km / lt is good. Eventually when they change the oil during second servicing the avarage will be 10.5 to 11 km / lt.

Makes sense..........

I have same problem in my Logan now. The area under drivers feet gets wet when AC is ON. When AC off it doesnot wet. It looks like as if some one has poured water inside. Everyday it will dry little during day in hot sun in my office and evening when I switch AC on it will become very wet. I guess some Logans have this issue and this is an inherent issue in Logan

Gany,

I have a friend who bought a logan 1.4 GLE. After few days of driving, he used to get foul smell inside the car. He drives the car in Recycle mode most of the time.

On a very sunny day, if the car is parked for sometime in the sun, he would see the inside of the car covered fully with mist. His instinct made him lift the mat to inspect. The cloth mat which covers the entire floor of the car was fully wet. I could see the water droplets if i tapped the fingers on the floor.

The car was fully stripped of the seats & cloth mat removed and dried at the authorised.

The smell was gone for a week and again it came back. This keeps repeating & finally he stopped using the car after filing a suit in the consumer court.

The reason given is, the A/C waste water removal hose/pipe was getting clogged for reason unknown & the reason remains unknown even to this day.

Inaddition to this, he has the problem of the dust. smoke and smell getting into the cabin even though the A/C is in recycle mode.

Mahindra engineers from Nashik visited to inspect the car, but went back fully confused.

Probably, You may please check the car for similar issues.

Front side below the front windsheld washer container there is a rubber cap when water enter the portion it should open but due to dust and decayed leaves it was closed permenently . so i opened and cleaned it now it is ok. Pls check this portion if any one has problem of water logging in that particular area.

Thanks for all the replies.

I dropped my car at the service center on Saturday and it seems this issue is cropping up in newer top end models of Logan diesel(But donno how come only top end models)

They told they have took apart all the seats and carpet and have kept for drying and they will take photographs of this issue and send to Mahindra as this issue has become very frequent in newer Logans.

I have not yet taken delivery of my car as they told it will take some days to fix this issue. So I am waiting...oh ho I am waiting..... Smile
