NEW brakes need running in just as any part on a new car
DO NOT DO A EMERGENCY STOP unless you need too

Yeah its just that the pads are new and need to adjust which they'll over some kms! Dont worry, it happens with all Logans and also may be other cars too.

If you brake a little too hard, any car would lurch forward a bit, and in a new car this tends to make an "oink" type grunt ... I have heard this once in my Logan as well.

Oh My god !!!
Its a new car the disks are covered in presevation stuff your brakes they rub what is the issue .
I think when i come over to India I could open a school on cars and how to treat them ( but I respect the Indian knowledge more than that)
I am sorry but a lot of questions that are being asked on this forum need to be directed to a new thread we could call it
"First car buyers" I mean this !!!!!
Because some of these questions will frighten the realy interested ones anyway

SORRY GUYS I HAD TO SAY THIS

I knoww... I have done about 14000 kms and still the noise is there.. Theres definately a flaw. The noise has increased yea in the recent times and thats thakns to the moisture in the air during the monsoons i would assume but i dont say thats expected.
Will take it up at the service..
Will keep you guys posted

Hi Hitesh, just may be your brake pads are a bit large for the polished area of your brakes. You could rectify this with dismantling of your brakes and rubbing off a bit of your brake pads or shoes on the outer edges.Hope it would help you.

well from my point of view it's simple,u get what you pay for.u paid between 7k-10k euros depending on ur options and engine, isn't it right? so to make it for this price range, not just renault, but every co. would cut corners and the first corner would be refinements such as noiseless brake pads on every car.incidentally renault, dacia or mahindra r not my cousins for that matter Laughing .1 question,as I speak farsi does maregi mean die or drop dead? Wink

Hey Aali , "Makhiyan maregi" is a saying / phrase in Indian language . It means, the person does not have any work and he is passing his time by killing flies.

hey man, th brake noise comes up in new cars, because of the plates being to new.. it should automatically reduce. and during the first service get them checked up.. also, dont spray water with a hose on to the wheels, instead just use a wet sponge and clean them

usually the sound comes up due to moisture... i had problem for two weeks. and after doing this it actually stopped.

one last recommendation, just ge the wheel area greased again! it should fix most of it!! Smile

PostSubject: Re: Brake Noise   Mon Aug 15, 2011 7:28 pm

Guys some days back i went to the service center to get my brake pads changed as i drove about 45,000 and one of my friend told me you need to change pads after 40,000 if you wont your discs will get wornd out.

Service manager told they will cost me about 1700rs. i was not very happy with the price and service center was almost 200 meters away from the local market so i decided to go and conform there onse.

On a shop i found pads from kbx it was written that manufactured by bosch india i
conformed from the shopkeeper he said kbx is bosch indias product.

They were costing only 650rs. and 100rs. labour total of 750rs almost 1000rs. less then the service enter i called a friend or mine got the thing checkd on net he also said that kbx is a bosch product so got the pads change.

The mechanic told me they could hav gone more 4 or 5 thousand kms(means i am a gud driver..:p) evryhthing went fine but i get a whistling noise wenever i brake its not that loud but it can be heard.

I conformed from a mechanic in the agency he said kbx pads work fine only some noise comes as they are little hard then the original pads..
