Fog Lamps in Dlx

dont you have the holes where the fogs will be fitted in the bumper already
Fogs dont help you see better all the time but they are good in fog and like I just read on poteholed tracks also they light up the kerbs realy well

no there aint any holes out there. its all bumper even in that fog lamp area. however the place is existent but is all bumper material.

Thats what i mean the place is there you just cut it out .and yes its strong enough IF you use the LOGAN fogs

The Problem here is that we have to cut the round are that you see. There is no provision already made so i m worried!

Anyways Mir, as and when i go for it, i'll definately update it on the Forum.

I have fitted foglamps in my 1.4GLX. the accessory shop cut the holes with regular retracteble cutter which is available in regular stationary shop. he has done pretty descent job. This is almost 2 months old and not faced any loosening or falling problem. It costed me Rs. 1200/-

One more thig I am looking for highpower bulbs for these foglamps. Currently it looks like 12V, 55Watt.

I am waiting for my dealer to get the proper hole drilling bit which is similar to the one used for making holes for the rear sensors.

Do not like the idea of getting holes cut with knives or cutters.

But am very excited to get the fog lamps fitted. More of a bling factor than a need as of today.

Pics of the fog lamps fitted by the dealer .. While bending down and seeing the same thru the naked eye, the work seems to be ok.. but in the pic... it is uneven... The control switch is given in the central console...

Ouch !!! they did not do a good job of the cutting .I would complain .they could have finished it off with rubber around the sides

Stuart, this is the problem here. The company itself doenst recommend this. I guess their way would be buy a new bumper. Also, the Switch sucks

The switch is Ok but the bodged up cutting is a disgrace! Bloody Hell even a child would have made a better job of it ,Like vsuprak said there are proper tools to cut the holes

unfortunately this will cost considerable amount of money and more than that technical expertise excellence to perform the absolute beautiful job.

Why cant i get a proper spare (similar to the rear defogger/pwr window) switch installed and have it without springback?

Well when i visited the SKS automobiles showroom on Saturday, saw the DLE model with fog lamps , it was the limited edition version with couple of changes made to the basic mode.

I checked they had installed fog lamps, and done wiring for the same, what the guy said was they were installing original logan fog lamps which were procured directly from factory.

Getting the original lamps fitted along with wiring would cost around 4.5k

I am planning to send the pic to the service head.. while selling the car the sales guy said that it will be fitted like a factory fit.. and at the showroom to the naked eye it doesnt look very bad.... I have insist that they use some sort of rings to hide that uneven cut..

Any idea if the control can be integrated into the stalk on the steering column??
I would pay an extra 2k for that. Not very much in favour of the additional switch.

I checked on that ... the service guy said, the complete stalk needs to be changed to accommodate the control in that since the GLX stalk does not have this provision...

I am thinking whether we can do away with the rear fog lamp and use this control in the stalk for the front fog lamps since rear fog lamps are generally not used in India... Any inputs...

Well why not ?Thats a good idea if you are in fog then just the one switch for both lights

That is the way in which it is setup in my car. No fog lamp connection to the rear one. The DLX stalk has the provision.

Yes BUT the first click is the Fogs at the front and then click further the fog light goes on as well in the rear

Fog lamp switch goes only one click in mine. I guess its disabled/unbuilt for the 2nd click.
Any ideas on the stalk price?
