| I bought my car on 23rd November 2007, a Saturday. Subsequently, in search of user reviews of existing Logans, I stumbled into this forum. I joined this forum on 16th March 2008 and just completed 5 years. I was the 33rd member to join.
Not many would be aware that this forum earlier had the URL http://mahindralogan.co.cc
I slowly came to understand that @sAuMiL had started this forum out of his passion for the car. There were many active members at that time, Dushie, Nayandeep, Ashutosh, DK, Hitesh and Ezee, to name a few.
Subsequently we had Tomlai, Stuart Martin, RajeshNamb, Mir... and many more. While some of them are still quite active, others are around and a few left. Today we 1361 registered users and about 30-40% of those are frequenters to the site. The love for the Logan came in from across borders as well. Our members include those from Germany, Russia, Iran, Romania and many many more. Over these 5 years, we also saw the fall of Mahindra-Renault JV and the rise of the Verito. The forum has always helped to keep members connected and make the best of the information.
Over these 5 years, we have improved our content and reach quite well.
As my topic title reads, thanks to the Passion and Untiring Efforts of our active members, we make sure that we are able to address queries related to the car as much as possible.
A special mention to Stu (martin245). For those who do not know, Stu is not based in India. A veteran at cars, Stu was in the Armed forces and I do not feel there is anybody here who can stand up to him and debate on the working of a car.
Stu, without you we are lost mate!
As we march forward, it is our endeavor to make this forum more informative, qualitative and a place to share our common passion. In this respect, I would request all to share actively. If not information, please share pictures of your car and your trips. We love them!
In case you come across duplicate posts, spam posts, please email the links to me and I will try to clean them up at the earliest. You can just click my username and select the email button. These small efforts will go a long way in maintaining the cleanliness of the forum.
Please let Saumil or me know if you have any suggestions or feedback. We will try to look into it.
Cheers!
Surya

| I am bumping up an old discussion that was started here about 3 years back and for a reason. Having had my car "Night Angel" with me for close 9 years and 132,000 km, I am now moving on with another purchase and will eventually sell my car shortly. I did make some very good web-pals here on this forum and excellent knowledge I learnt from senior members. Over the last few years, my activity and time spent on the forum has come down to a bare minimum due to other priorities.
I am planning to write my overall ownership experience of 9 years - in due course. But the one line summary I would like to make is: "The Logan is an excellent car for comfort, space and economy, with robust build to tackle Indian roads. However, its a pity that Mahindra could not maintain the excitement that a product needs and even worse, had to screw up things on the service front".
While I may not remain an owner of the lovely Logan, I would still like to remain on the forum. I am always available on a private message for any query that I can help with.
Good luck to all members. Keep Loganizing.

| Hello Stu, Saumil, Surya and All , Its been a long while. I no longer own the Logan DLX 1.5. It is now with my brother. The car has covered about 1,30000Kms. He doesn't drive it frequently though. I miss the Logan. This is an extraordinary car. On terrains/roads where vehicles costing 15Lkahs and above 'limp' to cover distances, this one 'flies'. I now own a Duster which is built on the same platform as the Logan and so is Lodgy. The folks at Sireesh Auto have over the years done a wonderful job and continue to do so. Probably, once the agreement with Mahindra ceases to exist by 2017/2018 or so, hopefully, Renault will re-consider rolling out the Logan again. Regards Rajesh | |

| I have a Logan Petrol 1.4 GLE bought in year 2009. Yes now it has become an untiring effort, which can only come with passion to maintain these cars. The pricing of parts by Mahindra is exorbitant and also these are not in stock. After placing order one does not know when these will be delivered. If one has a major breakdown of this vehicle, one is forced to think to sell/scrap or to get it repaired and what to do for procurement of genuine spares for petrol engine version, as these are now not available in after-market. One dealership in Delhi is even hesitant to take Logan's for repair as they block their space till the parts come in from Mahindra. The problem of spares would not have risen if Renault-Mahindra had got Logan parts developed in India.
Logan is a easy to repair vehicle if a good mechanic is there, but finding one is difficult and as I said genuine spares at least for petrol engine are not easy to get. Logan's in India are at end of their life-cycles and passion can only keep them running.

| Mechanic's Stu Mechanic's. Good one's are not there outside of dealership, besides airfreight of volume items costs too much. In India I say, till the heart of the vehicle its engine keeps running well, keep it, the day it goes think otherwise. These 1.4mpi K7J engines are real workhorse, these are like as they keep gaining mileage they free up more, become more responsive. | |
