| Hello Fellow Logan users,
My Logan 1.4 gls with CNG kit has developed a new problem. Sometimes it will shut down during idling. Even when during gear change this can happen. as soon as I press the Clutch the engine rev falls dramatically and can shut down. For starting the car I have to press the accelerator real hard. This problem goes away if I take the engine revolutions to 3000 rpm for 20-30 sec. After that the problem will not come again for few days. This happens both with petrol and CNG.
I wonder if the idling air-mixture sensor in air intake throttle body is the culprit?
Any suggestions what could be the problem??
thanks pankaj | |

| Pankaj, If your car has a EGR then the valve may have got stuck in open position. First some expert on this forum needs to confirm that Petrol Logan Renault does have a EGR. If it has a EGR, then EGR Valve sticking in Open position would push the Exhaust into Intake at idling making the car rough, sputtering for breath and not getting enough air for fuel combustion. EGR Valve cleanup is very much possible. If your car has EGR, did you ever have a cleanup done. Check/ Clean your Air filter also. Cheers. | |

| I would take the car to the Garage and get them to read out the Engine Control Units codes It does not sound good and definitely not safe to drive Here is a Photo of the EGR Valve from a Logan But like I said go and get the codes read out first (It could be the Valves have burnt out this can happen in a 1400 Logan which has been changed to Gas !!! I have warned about this before on this forum so maybe a compression test would find this out for you ! actually it sounds like that as well

| Dacia Logan 1400 cc 8v 2006 >
1600 cc K7M 710 8v 2006 >
They are the numbers of the Motors which Cannot run Gas ! without problems appearing after about 100000 km I would suspect the 2006 engine would have been used in the Indian Logan | |
