PostSubject: Diesel fumes inside cabin   Fri Aug 08, 2014 1:46 am

Diesel fumes fill up the cabin when windows are closed while driving.
This is different from other complaints because no other vehicle's fumes or external smells penetrate inside the cabin.
No/Less smell of diesel fumes was observed near the engine/under hood.
Close inspection by self, showed no strong smells coming out of AC vents while the AC was on.

Service engineer claims to have checked Fuel lines for leaks and cleaned the condenser of AC. The problem still persists and appears to be difficult to diagnose.

Kindly suggest action.

Dear Martin,
Thanks for the guidance.
I sent the car to the service station- they found a stuck air circulation flap - said thy could not smell a thing. After a test drive I convince dth technician - so he changed the AC air filter.
Still no help.
I've been smelling the boot regularly but could not fine much.

Yesterday while standing closeI smelt some thing and on investigation saw that 2 pressure lines did not have caps-one was still lying around in the boot so I screwed it on. Still no improvement

Somebody help-- else i will stop driving !!

Have you been UNDER the car and looked for a leak ? you will see this by wetness on parts of the body underneath
also check the injectors for wetness in fact just check the whole system for wet !

The mechanic at the service station raised the car and took me along -- could not spot any leaks/ wet patches. Did not find any smell there either.

After every ride, I open the boot to sniff around and have a look for leaks-- but do not find anything.

However whenever I take her around, the small starts coming .

Not the smell of diesel from the can. Neither like the exhaust of a nother car or truck ahead of me on the highway.

It is just fuel fumes- at times even my eyes burn- so I am sure it is there

I have already removed the back seat and shone a torch near the access point to the tank... but nothing.

I will definitely look at the cylinder head and a leaky oil gasket, first thing in the morning--

Thank you for your support Martin
