| Power drop in Max AC position In my car also I feel there is a huge pulling power drop when AC is set to max and blower is set to max. This was with me alone in the car and no load in boot. But it feels as if I have 5 people in car with full load in trunk.
This does not occur when AC is set to first position(i.e smallest blue dot 1)
Power drop in Min AC position - Only for first 10 secs - When car is running But even in setting 1, I notice a huge pulling power drop for some initial 10 seconds when AC is switched on for the first time when the car is running.
If some one is willing, try to set AC and blower to max position and please report your findings.

| I don't think the maximum and minimum position has anything to with the power. If my understanding is correct when it is in maximum position you get cool air only and when it is at minimum a bit of warm air is introduced to bring down the cooling effect. The a/c works at the same output. I have covered close to 70000Kms haven't noticed any drop in power when the a/c is engaged. Touchwood | |

| I guess you are correct Rajesh. But why did I feel a huge power drop?..I am thinking.. Will setting blower to high speed will cause such a power drop?.. | |

| @MCL,
Higher setting will only increase the blower speed. That is the Rate of flow of cold Air. If you are cooling the cabin faster then the compressor will kick in for cooling much frequently than in normal case.
It mainly depends on the temperature setting you have kept it at (Primary) and then the blower speed for the rate of cooling at set temperature (Secondary) | |

| Nice article MCL. I like the last bit - Source wrote:
Q2) I know of people who put the A/C off and on at intermittent intervals to save on fuel when the car is running/at signals. Is this a good practice?
A2) It's out of ignorance. The more you manually sw on/off the Comp - the more you're cutting into its Clutch life. Above all, why sweat at the traffic lights. AC is meant to keep you cool and not sweat. If you choose to have it, use it ! If it has to cut-off per System needs, it'd do on its own!!
