| Speedometer not working + Water in Diesel filter light on.Could someone tell me how to change the speedometer wire? Or the sensor. Also, is the warning light a fault in the instrumentation fuse panel? | |

| Dear Faridabad, I can answer about the "Water in Diesel Filter" Light. The right driver underside has to be jacked up. Tyre turned towards the extreme right and behind the front mud flap is the diesel filter. Tricky location and there could be water in this fuel filter. Water has to be drained out. (This water/ impurity can cause issues of engine starting). Once water/impurity is drained out, Fuel pump on the drivers side under bonnet needs to be primed to get the fuel to the engine. Then the vehicle can be attempted to be started. Mechanic did this for me. About warning light in Instrumentation panel. Is it a single Red LED flashing ? or any other indicator in the instrumentation light ? | |

| The Fuel pump that I talked about above is a Manual rubber bulb like structure in front bonnet, driver side. When this dark rubber bulb is pumped manually, fuel is pulled and pushed into the engine. (This action basically removes the air (if any) introduced in the system because the diesel filter was just removed, drained and fitted back). | |

| About the speedo/odometer not working; there's a rotation sensor like this http://www.amazon.com/Aborn-Speed-Sensor-Renault-8200547283/dp/B00A2Q4U2G fitted, that gives pulses to the dashboard unit.
In my Logan, this had gone bad, and of course the service center said it couldnt be repaired, so replaced it for about 2,000 bucks.
Eventually, I opened the defective one and was able to fix that as well. If you are handy with electronics, I could give you further details to repair it yourself.
