Mahindra Logan first buyer experience

Hi,  I am Surya. Living in Bangalore. I have bought car for the first time. I dont even know ABCD of cars. I bought logan 2008 model & 1.5 diesel car..

Here are the problems I am facing.after 400 kms drive, I parked car for two days, after two days I released
-  automatic lock was not opening
-car was not starting
-when insert keys, not even lights are working

I had called up owner . he said that the car battery is in good condition & he had never faced this problem earlier... I dont know what the problem is,, I am not sure if i have done any thing wrong when I parked last time, but If i remember it correctly I witched off all lights & did every thing properly.. Just about to call local mechanic. please tell me what could be the problem.. 

Also, guide me on how do i go about maintaining the car as it am new to cars & driving..

Primary suspect is the battery, call a local battery shop guy he can tell you, or you can try to charge the battery from other car using a jumper cable, you may search some youtube videos on the same topic

2008 ! its the Battery just buy a new one and make sure its the correct amp

thanks much for your response... 
I had called local mechanic, he checked some wires from other car battery. still it was not starting, Mechanic was telling that it was starter problem... Luckily uncle from next house told mechanic to replace the battery from the other car & try,, it worked..
Luckly battery was in warranty, then I had called exide service, they have replaced service battery taken y car battery for service...

check that the red ignition light comes on when you turn the key and it goes out when the engine starts !!!

The red light indicates the battery is NOT being charged and then start up the car and it will go out indivating the battery is being charged ! Do you not have the users handbook for your car ? If not Message me your email address and I will send you one

hey suryaba, need not worry if you are new to cars, there are people who dont even try to know the servicing intervals, you are at least trying to learn, as Sir Martin said pl. read the service manual first, then you can try get into depth.

Kartikeyan, I am claiming insurance through cash less facility, as my front bumper left bumper, lights & shield got damaged.. Can you please guide me some tips or things I have to be careful. I have given my car in Ananta showroom Bangalore. I remember that fellow said the bumper, light, left shield has to be replaced.

Kindly guide me how much I might have to pay.
Also, please guide me key notes so that I will not get cheated by insurance & showroom people.

What ??? have you crashed it now ! I thought the only problem was the Battery ! OH DEAR

Well,, I did. first crash & then the battery problem ..
there was no damage to engine, but left head lamp, bumper & shield got damaged.
