If this is the latest one , then they have increased the price for all parts compared to my last service which i undertook - i have posted the details of the same in servicing post. No wonder people are screaming about expensive parts and servicing cost.

i would suggest you check again, as recently saumil has announced price drops. i saw the price borad before his announcement.

That picture of parts price was taken by me from Bhasin Motors, New delhi service center. Earlier paid service charge was 950 but increased now to around 1350, which is huge.

The only way to keep maintenance cost down is to drive less and maintain your vehicle. Although I will not suggest to go for local service centers for any engine or clutch job.

MR uses patented screw and nuts system, local service center may not have those tools - again its a tricky by MR

I too checked with the service guys.. yes they have increased the prices for all services and labour.. so I guess that price drop reported by Saumil is just another Sham from M-R

Well ideally it would be great if we can get details of labor cost being charged by other providers like Tata ,Maruti, Ford, GM & Toyota

Then we can have a benchmark and comparison as to who is charging what for labor cost for services

I am about to take my logan for the second service this month. Can somebody tell me about the amount I could possibly be charged?
Regarding the car, I have no complaints, exceptional handling, space, comfort, and safety. This is one of the best decisions I have made; The mileage I am getting on highway with my 1.4 glx is 14 km/l, which is fantastic, but on slow traffic it come down to about 10.5km/Litre. Could it improve after the nest few services??

if nothing is to be changed, which is as per the service guidelines charges will only be for the labor which may be around 300 Rs. not more. However you can get the exact figures calling them beforehand.

Mileage on 1.4 glx with A.C. all the times in city is between 10 - 11 kmpl. so far i have not seen it go beyond 11. I dont see it improve. However if your figures are without A.C. then there is scope for improvement.

folks my logan had a right side tail light broken yesterday in the damn traffic.
i got it replaced, however one single tail light costed me 1850. i see this to be well on higher side. i had expected it to be around 1100.

i enquired about the fog light fitting. the guy told me that company has supplied a fog light fitting kit. once fitted once will not even feel that the fog lights were fitted later on. however the cost of that kit is exhorbitant. it costs 10500.

also if one wants to change the headlight bulbs to more powerful ones one has to make some changes to the electricals as without this the electric circuit will not be in position to take that additional power surge load.

parts are not cheap at all. costly affair.

Check other cars lights! i dont really think it is costly!

that works out to 28 Euros which for me is amazing ! I would not even be able to buy 15 ltrs of fuel for that price
It costs here 3282 IR for a tail lamp (If I have worked it out correct)

@saumil: there are two things to this

1. 1450 part was expected at maximum 1100. This one is within Mahindra Renault pricing. Though I would like to know the tail light price of Maruti DZire, Indigo LS, Ford Ikon, Hyundai Accent for instance.
2. 1800 job was expected at maximum 1400. Mahindra Renault is out of this one.
