Good to be part of the forum. You guys have helped me select Logan... so here's what it's like after 45 days of purchase.

I've driven 2400 kms in 45 days. have got the first service done at 2100 kms.The car is comfortable to drive in city conditions ( pune ). But better for long drives. The steering is harder than the other car that we have ( Maruti, Alto ), and is also harder that most other cars that i've driven. But am getting used to it and not complaining. As somebody mentioned in a review, the car needs a bit of persuations ( steering, gear shift ), and I quite like machines like that.
I am extremely happy with the suspension. It's robust and can take bad roads with ease... seems the car won't get rattled in indian conditions easily.

The Mileage on the whole is good. I get 12 to 13 in city conditions with 50% AC. I got the following on long runs.

1) Pune to Mumbai with two people in the car - early morning drive on expresway with no traffic without AC - 20.4 Kms / litre
Mumbai to Pune - 4 people in the car with AC on , usual traffic in Mumbai - 13.6 kms / ltr
2) Pune to Matheran and back - four people, full AC - 13 Kms / ltr
3) Pune to Mahabaleshwar and back - Full Ac - 14.2 Kms / ltr

All runs were Below 2500 rpm, and below 100 kms / hr.

Complaints at first service :
1) Seat Belt noise - the winding mechanism inside the body panel would make continuous noise while driving. the problem was solved, but the car had to be taken back a day after the service. The problem could not be located initially. I guess they used some adhesive tape as lining between moving parts.
2) Smell of petrol inside the cabin - Seems like it is solved. I was told that the petrol or vent pipe under the rear seat had got pinched. The supply pipe to the engine was also removed, cleaned and reinstalled.

3) Left Rear door lock malfunction - The door won't open sometimes... no it's not the child lock. Seems they did some adjustment. But it malfunctioned again a few days back. I guess I'll ask for a change of the assembly if it malfunctions again.

On the whole, I am quite happy with my choice.. and eagerly waiting for the next long drive !

Nice report ! Get the Lock changed on Garantee tell them you are frightened in case of an accident and people in the rear cannot be rescued

Yes I intend to get the lock changed.
the colour of my vehicle is mist silver.

It'll be good if the mileage improves further.
I guess it depends a lot on driving habits.

I got the locks changed... seems to be working fine now.

We bought the Logan 1.4 GLX in Jan 2009 before being associated with this forum. I did had a look at other versions of cars, but they are so compact and costly when compared to the space, the engine, the metal, the robustess, the comfort that Logan offers. The name speaks for itself. Most of my friends only said that the looks are not the best. They were not aware until they drived it, had a look inside. One of my friend bought a hatch back for nearly the same amount as the Logan and when he saw the it, he had a second thought on his decision.

After Reading this Forum, I am now in a stronger position to explain more features that this car offers. I also had some of my questions cleared. Thank you to all in this forum for your valuable insights ( technical and non-technical).

Mahindra and Renault needs to do some solid advertising for this car. People are missing out something important just because of the looks ( the rear part ) that this car has..
